When did my sweet first baby get so big? He's been outside with his Papa mowing the lawns, every night at dinner when I ask each person what they are thankful for he answers the lawn, beach, and food. When I give him a reading activity he does it, rather easily, and I hear him practicing to read. He knows the rules from the old house for lighting fires in the fire place and what kind of wood to collect for what stage. He's my go-to handy-boy when I need something done... Such as a screw being tightened or a battery being replaced. He's so hands on I just know he will do well in his chosen field regardless of my failures as a person, as a parent and as his primary educator.
He's skipped his lunch meal and he's skipped his play time and he's skipped being inside with me and the children.. Just to be outdoors with his Dad mowing the lawns and whipper snipper. Okay so he's not using the whipper snipper but he is watching and learning and helping.
I can tell by the smirk on his face that he's proud of himself and what he's doing and I can tell he knows that I'm watching him.
Somewhere along the way my first baby, the desire of my heart.. Has grown into a little man.. With dreams and desires of his own..
But he's still calling the whipper snipper a "wiffer sniffer" so I guess he's kind of still my boy baby ;)
