Today we missed regular church.
Isaiah has been working very hard to get his skills ready for the dance concert which is happening next weekend. I say worked very hard because he has had to be pushed week after week some times throughout this year to keep going with it. Rocking up in the car park to a boy who doesn't want to get out has been a bit of frustrating and seeing him enjoy his class makes it more frustrating.
I might not force him any other year but this year I felt the need to. Sometimes things happen in our life that we don't like or enjoy but we need to push through it and that's one thing I felt important to teach him at the time.
Isaiah has been in the all boys hip hop class, he's one of the younger boys but not the youngest and I think he struggles to keep up with the beat, it's fairly fast paced and he tells me he can't do it.
Today was the dress rehearsal at the Civic Centre where it is to be held. It took for ever. It takes ages. I foolishly thought I'd be there for a half hour so didn't mentally prepare myself for the hour plus I was waiting.
Isaiah did really well, he exuberant es excitement for the concert and looks forward to being on stage where the people will get to watch him dance.
Isaiah has learnt many great life skills through this process and I am very proud and pleased with his personal achievements.
We ducked off to church for about 30 minutes before returning for the boys practice run.
We watched an inspiring home video of our pastors who had gone to Africa. What an experience I'd love to partake in.
This evening we packed two dogs, two bikes and 4 kids into the car, drove to the foreshore and walked along the path.
Isaiah got more bike riding practice and Amalia had her first ever real bike ride. She did well! Wobbly and jumps off sometimes but did well. Another few practice shots and she could possibly come off training wheels.
It was a joy to be able to do that. It's our first family walk as a family of 6 and Avigail is 19-20months old! (We've been bush walking and climbed a rock but not a walk).
Rather than taking the pram I gave Avigail the opportunity to walk holding my hand. She walked the whole way. At times she would run off to look at the beach, super excited to be on her feet and not strapped into the pram. Every now and then shed stop to pick up a pine leaf/stick thing. It got annoying but I was trying to be patient and let her explore the environment freely. I obviously need a lot more work.
I am inspired by traveling blogs and wish to be on the road exploring and traveling and experiencing first hand.
Sigh
The children put themselves to bed. I'm tired and feeling really really lonely.
