We spent the morning cleaning house and packing the car. It was forecast to rain which meant everything in the trailer needed weather protecting. Not cool!!
We managed to get it all packed and ready. Then off we went. Actually we got fuel first. After getting fuel miss 4 asks if we were nearly at camping. We hadn't even left town and she was squirming.
Leaving at 10am arriving at 6pm we took two short cuts saving some time but it meant driving on gravel.
We took up michaels sister. She sat between the two girls and passed food and random stuff to the boys. Without her in the car with us I know that the trip would have been a bit harder. She helped entertain the children.
We sang along to kids CDs. Veggie tales 'on the road again' seems to be a Favourite. Especially 'number 10' you can't get to heaven in a rocket ship and the wheels on the bus. I seem to feel that kids music is traveling music with its usual bright happy tones and beat.
Two hours out of Perth I thought I'd contact a caravan park to book a campsite. Got one :)
As we entered the first traffic lights the kids got super excited!! We have sung songs about traffic lights over the past two years but have none where we live. It's been a real novel experience. They want to see lots of them. I assure them they will!!
They also saw a train and are keen to go on a train ride!! They keep asking if it's right now or one sleep.
They are highly amused at the lights from other cars and the amount of cars on the road.
After dropping Miks sis off we headed for food. KFC & HJs for us!!
Then off to our camp site. On arrival we collect our key and go to our designated spot only to find another camper there. Not knowing what to do we rang the night bell. They were very apologetic about their mistake and gave us $176 off our camp fees!! Whoah!! That's a lot hey!! And they asked the other people to move which they did. So we settled in, did too many toilet runs, set up the tent, made beds, put kids to bed and finally all was quiet... No. Wait. We are in the CITY! There IS NO QUIET!!
