We are sitting at a park, in the shade, approximately 5-7m from the sand section.
Miss 16 months comes toddling over with two miniature sized hand fulls of sand.
I know this game.
I hold my hand out and she fills it up. Pleased with her current treasures she she dusts the sands off her hands, turns around and toddles off.
Repeat several times.
At these young delicate ages where love is spelt T.I.M.E. and sand is a fun educational sensory experience I wonder, how often do we stop, sit and watch such a child in play.
I enhance her experience by giving her an empty take away coffee cup. she puts two miniature hand fulls of sand in, turns away, takes a few steps, turns back and picks the cup up before taking it to the sand pit to fill up.
At these young ages, fun is in the little things.. Like sand and handfuls of them, a place to put it and a place to take it.
But are we willing to let them just be??? Let them play??? Let them experience???
